American Century Towers

The American Century Towers are a dual 15-floor office-building complex that soars above the eastern edge of the Country Club Plaza. Sited picturesquely alongside the Plaza’s Mill Creek Park the complex has become one of the most readily identifiable signature properties in Kansas City. Housing the major mutual fund company American Century and other high profile tenants the office towers required an extensive electrical power and voice/data infrastructure. Broadway began construction on Tower II in 1992 and completed the project in 1994. Since that time we have continued to provide tenant finish services for the complex. We provided electrical service, distribution equipment, backup generators and UPS systems that furnish emergency power for the entire complex. We installed the conduit and wiring for all systems including the fire alarm and security system. We installed the telecommunications system that includes single mode and multimode fiber optic backbone. We also handled the complete interior lighting installation as well as the building’s elaborate exterior and site lighting array.
